Not impressed

Went to use the companion website (specifically the chapter resources) and found that most of the links no longer work. Additionally, the wiki for these resources hasn't been updated in over 8 months. I am really disappointed that they took the time to make this resource and advertise it throughout the book, but don't keep it updated.

A Thoughtful and Timely Resource for Teachers of English Language/Arts

The text helps English language/art teachers and interns consider practices which satisfy and exceed Common Core State Standards. More importantly, the companion online case studies and ancillary exercises are the first that I've seen that actually reinvent the textbook as a portal to 21st century collaborative reflections.

Beach, Thein, and Webb are trusted scholar-educators. Their vision of teaching possibilities is based on solid research. This is sure to be a seminal text.

Great resource for teachers and teacher educators

English education scholars and teacher educators Rick Beach, Amanda Haertling Thein, and Allen Webb have done it again! This book offers a much-needed resource for helping new English teachers (and veteran teachers) navigate the Common Core State standards. I appreciate that the authors present an overall model for how to approach teaching to - and beyond - the standards. Teaching to Exceed the English Language Arts Common Core State Standards has a prominent place on my teaching resources bookshelf.
