About the Author
Anne Rambo, Ph.D., has taught in Nova Southeastern University’s family therapy program for over 20 years and supervised hundreds of students who are now licensed marriage and family therapists (MFTs). She has a strong interest in training and supervision.
Charles West, Ph.D., is administrative faculty in the marriage and family therapy program at Northcentral University. He is a past president of the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards and has extensive clinical and supervision experience.
AnnaLynn Schooley, Ph.D., has taught for many years for Capella University, which has the nation’s largest marriage and family therapy program. She has been an agency clinical director as well as an academic and private practitioner, specializing in supervision for licensure.
Tommie V. Boyd, Ph.D., is the chair of the family therapy department at Nova Southeastern University and on faculty. She also has over 30 years of clinical and supervision experience and is the recipient of an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Leadership Award.

Amazing book and great resource

I am a recent master's graduate in Marriage and Family Therapy. And I have to say this book is amazing written and what I believe to be a great resource in studying for the AMFTRB licensing exam. This text helped me in being able to compare and contrast the models of family therapy, which is big part of the national exam. I would suggest this book to any one is studying or a seasoned therapist. I have learned so many aspects about the models of family therapy that I did not know before.

Comprehensive Yet Eminently Readable!

Family Therapy Review: Contrasting Contemporary Models by Rambo, West, Schooley, and Boyd is a much-needed look at the Family Therapy field. It is much needed due to the confusion the layman has with other therapeutic approaches. Thus, this book is not only important for students needing a comprehensive source as to the many models that practitioners can use, but it is an easy-to-read overview for the general public wondering where to turn when in need of more help than their best friends know how to give them. The readability of this book comes especially from its brief and dramatic stories of real-life people in therapy.
As a practicing therapist myself, I have already sent out a message in my latest newsletter recommending people buy this book specifically to understand the theoretical roots of my work. It will clarify the old comment that I have heard so many, many times from satisfied clients: "I've had therapy before and it just didn't help. You do something different; I don't know what it is, but it works!"
